Special update: Guest transcription by Castlevaniapro93 (AKB0048 ED – Yume wa Nandomo Umarekawaru)

Oh well, since I’ve uploaded the AKB0048 Opening, I might upload the piano cover of the ending as well. But this time, the sheet is not done by me, it’s done by Castlevaniapro93.

Here is the link to his website: http://www.castlevaniapro93.webs.com/

He have contacted me via e-mail some months ago and after countless skype chat’s I’ve found out he is also watching the most current anime shows, he ALSO makes anime music sheets for the piano, he ALSO have very high demands to himself in order to deliver the highest quality piano sheets possible – AND he is also german. Awesome.

I’ve only made some minor edits (since he is also using Sibelius as notation software, I could edit the sheet very quickly) because some of the passages are too hard/impossible to play. Nevertheless: I really appreciate his effort for making those amazing sheets.

Also, thank you, for voting whether I should use the e-piano or the grand piano – and you have decided!

It was a close decision, but eventually, more people prefered the grand piano (with inferior recording device) over the E-piano.

One day I’ll get a better mic…. maybe through donations…?

… well, only time could tell.

Alright, see you in two weeks again, where the summer anime season will finally begin!

Just testing out something (AKB0048 Opening – Kibou ni Tsuite)

Hello everyone!

No, it’s not summer season 2012 yet, but I wanted to test out something.

I basically want you readers to decide which audio recording you prefer:

Pic related, the ZOOM H2 recorder

A) The (subpar) recording from my ZOOM H2 recorder when I play the grand piano, since I can’t afford any better microphone because I don’t have the money or

This is the one I own btw

B) a digital recording from my Kawai CA 63, where you can finally hear the bass clearly.

Initially I wanted to play a piano piece from Chopin to let you decide which one is better, but then I changed my mind and transcribed the OP of AKB0048 instead.

Why? Because AKB0048 has ascended to my third-favorite show of the season. I expected some boring idol show with a huge uninspired cast but instead we got the NO FUN POLICE, idols battles in space, post-traumatic-stress-disorder-suffering, a MECHA-ITASHA, plenty of good soundtracks – and fantastic backgrounds.

I love the details in background, awesome man, awesome.

So here it is: the transcription of AKB0048‘s Opening – Kibou ni Tsuite.

It’s a really catchy song and I often sing along when the OP starts.

Now, it’s up to you to decide, which recording you prefer: the grand piano one or the digital one. Vote here:

Some public announcement

I miss my old channel background image ;__;

Don’t worry, I’m not closing my blog or anything, I just wanted to inform you that I have been featured in an interview with SUTORAIKU, a Japanese pop culture online community. It’s definitely worth a read for some of you, especially if you want to learn more about the history behind my passion for anime and piano covers.

Here is the the link to the interview.

Well, that’s all I wanted to say.

I’ll update my blog again as soon as the summer anime season begins!

EDIT:

I have just noticed something, when I have watched the latest Eureka seven AO episode…

MOTHER OF GOD

“Promoting” my favorite anime this season with a new sheet (Natuiro Kiseki – ED)

One last update, (this makes eight complete sheets in one month, I must be either crazy or really enthusiastic) before I go into “hibernation mode” again. In addition, my veeeery late spring anime 2012 first impressions post is finished as well.

Well, you surely noticed the title of this post, so lets talk about my favorite show this season, Natsuiro Kiseki, and let’s discuss why this is so “unpopular” among the anime community.

But first of all, why am I even suggesting this show is “unpopular”?

Here are the reasons why I think Natsuiro Kiseki has fallen under the radar in the anime community and don’t get the attention it (really) deserves:

  1. – this show seems to be neglected on the animeblogosphere. Here is the screenshot of animenano, showing the amount of posts among the anime bloggers. Seems like, Fate-zero and Hyouka are the most discussed series this season.
  2. the rating on Myanimelist is incredibly low (6.85), and I can’t comprehend why. If we consider Natsuiro Kiseki as a slice-of-life anime, it does everything right, and even better than your average slice-of-life shows.
  3. there are only 12 (!) fanarts on danbooru/gelbooru (not counting in the ero ones), which is definitely too few for a show, that aired more than a month ago. (compare to Hyouka, which have 83 fanarts already). This show really deserves more love.

My guess why people ignore this anime:

  1. –  on the first glance, it’s a yet-another-slice-of-life series, if you only judge by the cover and the summary, so it don’t really have a good selling point.
  2. – the first episode wasn’t that interesting (some random teen drama) and it ended on a strange note (girls are flying through the sky because of a random rock?!? wtf? etc…) and most people dropped the show because of that.
  3. – there are many better and more exciting shows airing in this season, so probably most people dropped this in favor of other series.

And now here are five unbiased reasons, why you should watch this show:

1. the girls are cute. I mean, really really cute. I mean, just look at these two…

… how can your heart not melt at this sight? ;__;

 2. the overall direction of Natsuiro Kiseki is very down to earth and don’t feature any

outdated slapstick,

unneccesary boob jokes,

oh-boy-here-we-go-again situations

and blatant fanservice

3. The opening and ending is really good, despite being a “generic j-pop” at the first glance. I especially love the ending, which has a really beautiful tune.

4. The setting is more interesting than your usual slice-of-life stories, because it features the wish-stone, where wishes will come true (through the power of friendship of course) Not the most original idea since the invention of sliced bread but hey, hillarity always ensues!

5. Yuka’s ever-changing hairstyle

Convinced now?

Okay, so please give this series a chance if you have dropped it already (or still haven’t watched it), just relax and enjoy the true beauty of slice-of-life shows featuring four incredible cute girls doing silly things, and thank me later.

10.000 Subscribers!!! I love you guys (Triple update)

Wow.

Just wow.

When I started my Youtube channel two and half a years ago, I would NEVER EVER have thought that I would gain so many subscribers. I mean, all I did was just some random piano videos, focusing on covering Anime Openings/Endings and occasionally Soundtracks. My only cool feature was the sheet I provided to everyone.

…th…thank you … everyone…

But still, 10.000 people…

from all over the world….

subscribing my humble channel…

… *sob*

….ahem….

Anyway, thank you everybody for your support, for watching my Vids and playing the sheets I made. Seriously.

And in order to celebrate that, I’ll present you something special.

Remember the post I made, when I had gained 1000 subscribers one and a half year ago? I played a piano medley of various different anime OP and ED, and said there will be sheets someday.

Well guess what, it’s about (fucking) TIME!

I’ll presend you, the  LONG-AWAITED SHEETS FROM MY PIANO MEDLEY!!!

– NOT, because I have only transcribed three of the seven pieces due to time constraints,…

… but don’t worry!  There will be sheets in the future… for sure…. I mean… I PROMISE!

And instead, I spent more effort than usual to transcribe the first three sheets.

So let’s begin with the TRIPLE UPDATE!

9_Shakugan_no_Shana_Wallpaper

1. Shakugan no shana ED 1- Yoake Umarekuru Shoujo

Why didn’t anyone ever try to transcribe this absolutely gorgeous Ending of Shakugan no Shana? Seriously, it’s a mystery.

Anyway, the sheet I made is very similar to the version I played in the piano medley, only slightly improved in a few sections.

2. CLANNAD OP – Megumeru ~cuckool mix 2007~

There exists sheets of Megumeru already on Josh’s Anime sheets, but only the version played in the original Visual Novel of CLANNAD, not the anime remix version and I personally think the anime version is better than the original.

I also made a sort of “remix”, because I included a part of the CLANNAD After Story Opening Toki wo kizamu uta in the sheet.

Henceforth, this sheet should be called

CLANNAD OP – Megumeru ~cuckool mix 2012~  (okay it was a joke)

3. Eureka Seven OP 4 – Sakura

The infamous Fourth Opening of the epic mecha series Eureka Seven by Nirgilis. The OP is still one of my all time favorite OP, because the absolutely brilliant use of Amazing grace in a modern J-rock song.
So I extended the OP with the Amazing grace theme at the end, to give it a more proper finish.

Alright, I hope you enjoyed the sheets and let’s hope that I’ll finish the remaining sheets one day…

Well, enjoy those sheets for the time being, and see you next time!

Two years later, ARIA is still my all time favorite Anime

Finally the spring anime season has arrived (Mysterious girlfriend X – Soundtrack)

and so… a new journey begins…

Hey everyone, it’s time for an update again!

Since the last winter anime season was very, VERY disappointing, (I dropped everything except Another and Daily lives of highschool boys) I am glad that spring season has finally arrived upon us and it looks more exciting than ever. Currently there are 8 shows on my watchlist including long awaited adaptions  like Mysterious girlfriend X or sequels like Eureka seven AO.

So today, I’ll start off with something unusual: a transcription of a soundtrack instead of a opening.

Remember the music which plays during the dream sequence of the first episode of Mysterious girlfriend X?

It was a really catchy waltz-like theme and I couldn’t get it out of my head, so I just went and transcribe it.

I also quoted an another famous piece by a very famous russian composer. Bonus point for everyone who can recognize it.

As usual, I’ll rename this sheet if the official soundtrack is out, currently I name it  “Dream theme

Did I mention how much I’ve missed to transcribe things again? So expect a lot of updates this season.

Oh by the way, today is friday the 13th. What a great day to start off the new anime season.

Also:

JC Staff in charge of anime adaption?!? NOOOOOOOOooo!!!!!

I dare you, JC Staff,  I DOUBLE DARE YOU, do NOT fuck up the Little Busters! anime or heads will roll.
