EDIT:

Alright, here’s the real reason: (shamelessly copied from MAL)

Story: 1/10

I’ve never watched an anime with a more pathetic story. The story line feels like the creators decided to pull all their favorite aspects out of all the anime they’ve ever liked and put it into one. There is a weak reference to “deep” connections between these 7 gangs in the anime, but this story is following the main character, Shiro and his cat that turns into a sexy girl randomly. The blue gang is a vigilante police group and one of the members, Kuro, believes that Shiro committed a murder based on this shady cell phone video of Shiro or someone who appears to look like him, committing the crime, and Kuro decides to follow Shiro around at school and become a “transfer student” and cook for Shiro and his cat like he has no real duties. The story line is absolutely horrid and there is nothing great about it.

Art: 10/10

The anime contains the most beautiful art I’ve seen in a lot of anime, but that is the only thing going for it. I am continuing this anime based on the art alone.

Sound: 6/10

It sounds fine.

Character: 1/10

Just like the story line, the characters are pathetic. They are not unique in any way and there is no character depth at all. I feel no emotions or sympathy for any of them. The main character, Shiro, seems to be this aloof high school kid who appears to have some dark side or schizophrenic tendency, but also doesn’t seem to have much care. The cat/girl turns into a human randomly, she has two different colored eyes, and does “cute” things. The red gang seems to be a collection of “tough, cool guys” plus some strange gothic lolita girl. There hasn’t been much on the red gang yet for me to make inferences on them. The vigilante police blue gang includes Kuro, the guy who carries around swords and follows around the main character while the main character tries to prove his innocence. He’s boring and one dimensional, and he carries around a weird briefcase filled with cooking utensils (seriously, wtf). There is a woman in the blue gang, who is dressed in this outfit where her butt hangs out but apparently works in this professional setting.

Overall: 3/10

[Status: dropped]

EDIT 2:

I just watched episode 5 and I am fed up with this series. Still no PLOT, character are acting stupid as hell, so many unneccessary scenes, I feel like I am only wasting my time with this series. F*ck you, GoHands for ruining a potentially awesome series and throwing precious money out of the window because you wasted so much beautiful animation for this miserable effort of a “revolutionary original” anime, which tries too hard to be cool and ultimatively fail in story telling and creating compelling characters.

8/10, I mad.

ZOOM H2’s last job (Tari Tari ED 2 – Kokoro no Senritsu)

Sawa is the best girl

Finally found some time to upload my transcription of Kokoro no Senritsu, I finished the sheet weeks ago and couldn’t find some time to upload it on youtube. But now, the job is done.

Kokoro no Senritsu is a really beautiful insert song (and also used as ED in episode 2 of Tari Tari), which I instantly fell in love with. I decided to play it slightly slower than the original, because it sounds more peacefully and relaxed. And the best of all, it’s fairly easy to play. This is one instance where the less is more principle is particularly applicable.

Aside from that, this is also an official “goodbye” to my good ol’ ZOOM H2 Handy Recorder. (the one I’ve been using since the Magia transcription)

Just a few days ago, I finally gathered enough money to buy a better microphone!

And guess who made it possible.

It was you.

You awesome people.

I have recieved a total amount of 340 € worth of donation, and with my own 100€ I’m adding in, it’s enough money to buy my long-awaited Rode NT5 matched pair micophone!

It’s… like a dream came true.

Th-thank you .. so much… everyone

You are the reason why I still have faith in humanity.

Thank you,

thank you for your support! ;___;

(*cough* if you still want to support my works, errm.. donation is still open ^^)

See you in fall season again!

Animenz

Why can’t it be fall already? (Hyouka OP 2 – Mikansei Stride)

At least, Hyouka still remains good

Alright, I’ll cut right to the chase: This summer anime season is extremely boring. Not a single show has catched my attention yet, and the only good show continuing from the last season is Hyouka at the moment. (Accel World has dropped in quality lately)

Let’s just start with my summer anime 2012 first impressions post.

Now, before everyone come at me and shout “wait, did you even watched these shows?

– yes, I did. All of them. Albeit only the first three episodes, but that’s usually enough to judge the shows.

The only series, who survived the three-episodes-test are Swort art online, Tari tari, Kokoro Connect and Jinrui,

Swort art online has started with a very impressive first episode, and everybody was hyped up, but from the second episode onwards, it began to crumble under it’s huge premise. The biggest problem I have with the series is the main character Kirito. After 4 episodes, he still doesn’t have any interesting personality besides being “badass” and most of the time “emo”. Another problem is the horrible pacing. In the second episode, one month has passed and no one even cleared floor 1, and two episodes later, they have suddenly reached floor 30. Seriously? How can you skip that much time in only TWO episodes? But the drama in episode 3 annoyed me the most. Why – tell me, why should I care about a character, who died a “tragically death”, when it’s has been barely introduced in the beginning of the same episode? That’s just wrong, there’s no build up, no real emotion involved, only a cheap plot device to force a tear-jerker for the viewers. And don’t forget to mention the introduction of your obligatory loli fanservice character in episode 4.

(;¬_¬)

Well, let’s hope it will improve with the time.

Tari Tari is slightly enjoyable for the most of the time, but it still haven’t set apart from your average slice of life anime series and its characters still remains pretty bland. Well, it does get some bonus points from me because of the focus on music.

Jinrui wa sutai Shimashita or Humanity has declined is the oddball of this season. It’s a very cynical series with a interesting premise but I still don’t feel any motivation to watch the next episode. Maybe it’s just not my cup of tea.

Kokoro Connect… well I still have to watch it (mostly because Tehishter has recommended this series), but it’s a bit irritating that the character design resemble K-ON! so much.

Now, let’s move on to the transcription itself:

Fun fact: I have added a (hidden) third voice in the Hyouka transcriptoin. If you pay closely attention you can follow it through the whole piece. The jumps in the right hand in the beginning is a bit tricky, so you can just omit these if you want.

[Mikansei Stride]     (difficulty: challenging)

This will probably be my only update for this summer season because none of the OP/ED have really intrigued me.

Fall anime season can’t come soon enough.

It’s Summer time! (Hyouka ED 2 – Kimi ni Matsuwaru Mystery)

Hi everyone, I’m back again for the summer season.

But before we start, let me express my thanks to everyone who have donated so far for my new microphone. Currently I have already received €244,35, that’s really amazing, and some people even donated 50€. Therefore,

thank you very much for your support ^^

I’m currently aiming to get the Rode NT5 Matched Pair for 315€, a pair of tripod and as well as an audio interface (120€). I have calculated everything and this one seems to have the best price-performance ratio.

Alright, here is the first transcription for the summer season: The Second Hyouka ED, Kimi ni Matsuwaru Mystery.
I am really happy that Hyouka has improved a lot recently and the episodes have become much more interesting to watch. Not forget to mention the animation is still god-tier.

As usual, I extended the TV-size Ending a little bit and added an alternative ending.

[Kimi ni Matsuwaru Mystery]       (difficulty: challenging)

why is Oreki so awesome?

Out of moe (Anamnesis – Another ED transcription)

Maybe… I’m growing old of Anime… I feel tired…very tired.

“The new anime season has already began more than two weeks ago, and there is only one update?

Well, I was indeed planning to update two weeks ago, when new openings and endings came out, but I lacked motivation to finish the sheets. I started doing the sheets of Mouretsu pirates OP, Rinne no Lagrange OP and the second OP Nisemonogatari, but I dropped all of them halfway.

And to be honest I’m gradually losing interest in Anime. (yet again)

Yeah, I know, all of us have experienced this, there’s always a weak Anime  season where everthing seems to suck, but until this point I though I could deal with it. It’s particularly bad this time.

Maybe… I should start transcribing songs from other media besides Anime like video games… or even pop songs.

Anyway, here’s my obligatory first impression post. And I am NOT  happy with this season:

Senki Zesshou Symphogear: What the hell am I watching. The entire premise is just… ridiculous beyond hell. The evil minions have the most stupid design I’ve ever seen. Seriously, this is stupid.

Nisemonogatari: FANSERVICE FANSERVICE FANSERVICE WORDSWORDSWORDS – damnit SHAFT. I had high hopes,  since I liked Bakemonogatari. SHAFT, I know you like pandering the audience, I appreciate the “unconventional” fanservice you are showing us here to boost sales, but using the first three episodes to simply reintroduce the characters? Where’s my plot? Where’s the kickass action? Where is badass-Shinobu? I am disappoint.

Mouretsu Pirates: … that’s actually not bad, but waiting this on a weekly basis is killing me. I’ll archive it and watch this in one run.

Rinne no Lagrange: XEBEC being… decent? HOW? Despite the “obvious” fanservice in the character design, it’s really not bad and partially entertaining. Still, I am not sure how long it will keep my interest, since everything else feels so generic.

Inu X Boku SS: Oh boy, every Shoujo love-comedy story ever. Let me guess: The main Character, will gradually fall in love with the bishounen – despite rejecting him first – and in the final episode they will be kissing, or at least holding hands. Prove me wrong.

Daily lives of Highschool Boys: Yeah it’s funny, but still, it can’t compare with Nichijou. Somehow, I can’t really relate to the characters, it’s lacking something.

Another: The only show I am still watching weekly.

Shana III is put on hold and I’ll watch it, when all episodes have aired.

Everything else not mentioned here sucks.

However, I have finished at least one piano sheet, it’s the ED of AnotherAnamnesis by Annabel.

Not much to say about this transcription, I kept it as simple as possible, the only difficulty in this transcription is probably the chord in bar 11, you’ll need big hands for this.

Well, that’s all.

I’ll start updating again when the spring Anime season 2012 begins. (and hopefully will be better than this lacklustre season)

Until then-

Animenz

Side note: Curse you FBI for taking down Megaupload. Now I have to remove over 20 bookmarks. Curse You.

A small tribute to the possibly best fanmade Visual Novel ever (Katawa Shoujo – title screen music “Wiosna”)

So it’s finally here. The Visual Novel I’ve been awaiting for since the first demo was out in 2009.

You couldn’t imagine how excited I was when I finally finished downloading this game and begin to play.

My only reaction after I finished all routes:

the tears… they won’t stop

My god, it was beautiful. Every single route was fantastic. The music, the script, the artwork. I still can’t believe how much I’ve enjoyed this. All girls were fantastic, you just can’t stop to care for them and share your love.

After I finished all routes, I felt empty, liveless, incredibly sad – but happy at the same time. I just can’t forget about the girls, the 30 hours of playing time you spent with them, the history you and the girls have shared – everything.

So the least I can do is to transcribe the music of the title screen, called “Wiosna”. Kudos to the guy, who composed this (and the whole soundtrack in general)

Do you know the feeling when you have just watched the last episode of an awesome anime you have been following for weeks, and then suddenly, when the credits begin to roll,  you realize this is probably your favorite anime of all time, but you know there won’t be another episode and you will never see your favorite characters again? That soul-crushing feeling of emptiness after you have witnessed the greatest thing ever?

Yeah, that’s how I feel now.

So, if you still haven’t played this yet, go and download the game here:

Farewell, Lilly, Emi, Rin, Hanako, Shizune, and Misha. I will miss you so badly ;_;

One last update before I go into hibernation mode (Fate/Zero OP – Oath Sign)

I’ve finished this transcription a long time ago but I was never satisfied with it (compared with my Euterpe or Mirai Nikki transcription) but yesterday I received a message on Youtube from a guy, and he asked whether I’ll make a sheet for “Oath Sign”, the OP of Fate/Zero.

*sighs*

translation note: “wiederherstellen” means “recover”

There you go.

This is made in my “old transcription” style, which means, almost no “original parts”, mostly faithful to the original TV-size ending, and – most important of all – not too difficult to play.

It’s not much, but well… I’ve done what I could.
