Regarding the state of the blog (and four new piano sheets)

closedHello everyone.

It’s been a long time since my last update, and I apologize.

Since I have moved my blogging activities to my facebook page, (https://www.facebook.com/Animenz), this blog has become more and more forgotten, and now, it’s almost dead.

It’s not because I didn’t quit Anime or anything like that, it’s because I realized that maintaining a blog is too time consuming and updating a facebook page is a lot faster than writing a blog entry.

So starting today, I will only keep my blog as an archive of my transcriptions and I will only update my blog if I uploaded a new video on youtube  – and I will continue doing my  yearly Anime review postst of course, it has become some sort of tradition.

Also, I decided to replace all the sheet download links in my youtube description with the sheethost.com links, meaning, you will no longer be redirected from youtube to my blog anymore, if you want to download the sheets. (I think this is more convenient for the most people)

Well, this is some sort of an official goodbye to my blog then, and at this point, I want to thank my readers for visiting my blog over the years.
I really appreciate every comment you made and giving me feedback back then.

Thank you for  917,366 visits and 1,725 comments.

Nevertheless, I still made a  first impressions of Spring Anime season 2013 – an abridged version: (Judging only by first episode)

anime chart 2013

This season is definitely one of the better anime season, and currently I am almost following 12 shows, and my personal top three series of this season are Suisei no Gargantia, Railgun S, and Shingeki no Kyoujin.

The anime who caused the biggest shitstorm ever was probably Aku no Hana with the questionable rotoscoped animation and, well… let the pictures speak now.

left: Manga, right: Anime

Last but not least: the three transcriptions I made in the last two months:

1. Guilty Crown OP 1- My Dearest (full version)

sample-ebb6fc3a109e40e4ae6b0cfbebf9bd98

-= Download the sheet and midi here =-

[My Dearest – pdf + midi]    (difficulty: insane)

After finishing My Dearest, I decided to create the first ANIME PIANO SONATA in the world:

Sonata in C-major “Guilty Crown”
-1st movement: Guilty Crown
-2nd movement: Euterpe
-3rd movement: Bios

Download link here:

Like a real classical sonata, it consists of three movements, fast – slow – fast, and these three fits the requirement perfectly (and they are in the same key too!)
This is probably one of the scariest coincidences I’ve ever seen, since I rarely do full ver. transcriptions, but it happens to be the three Guilty Crown pieces.

2. AKB0048 NEXT STAGE OP – Aruji Naki Sono Koe

-= Download the sheet and midi here =-

[ Aruji Naki Sono Koe – pdf + midi ]         (difficulty: average)

AKB0048 NEXT STAGE was awesome. I seriously hope they will be an AKB0048 FINAL STAGE movie or something like that. And the final episode was probably the most exciting episode I’ve watched for a long time. Ah.. good times… I miss this series so much…

so why aren't you watching AKB0048 now?

Since this series just began airing a few weeks ago, I can’t say much about it except it has glorious production values and Mikasa kicks ass.

4. Sister’s Noise – To aru Kagaku no Railgun S OP1

Friendly reminder this transcription is not done by me, but by my good friend castlevaniapro93 (who also transcribed the ED of AKB0048 I played on youtube), I only edited some parts of the sheet to give it a final touch.

Well, that would wrap the things up.

I’ll update this blog again when I finish the next sheet – until then~

Probably the biggest Blog Update ever (4 new sheets and stuff)

Angel beats-Kanade

Hello everyone!

It’s been while since my last update, I apologize, but don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten my blog. I was just a bit lazy in the last few weeks, and updating my activity status on my facebook page was a lot less work, than creating new posts here on wordpress.

A lot of thing has happened in january, so let’s start chronologically with my first Transcriptions for the winter anime season 2013 so far,  AKB0048‘s insert song Niji no Ressha (Rainbow Train)

32748366

Chieri X Nagisa are my OTP

Prominently featured in the first episode of the second season of AKB0048, (dat concert scene) this is still one of my favorite series of this winter season so far. I think I went a littlbe bit overboard with the difficulty of this transcription, (especially the last run of the right hand) but I simply wanted to express the high spirit of the original song.

-= Download the pdf and midi file here =-

[Niji no Ressha]      (difficulty: insane)

My second sheet is AKB0048 again (because there is still not enough love for AKB0048, seriously, why is this series so unbeknownst among anime fans) featuring the new ending of the second season: Kono Namida wo Kimi ni Sasagu (I dedicated this to you, my tears)

And surprise! It’s my first collaboration video with none other than TehIshter!

It was a lot of fun to record the piano duet, even the creation of the sheet went very smoothly, despite being my first time scoring a piano duet. In fact, this sheet was written by both of us, me and Tehishter. He scored the draft, while I finished the rest. The sync is not 100% yet, but there will always be room to improve. On our next collab maybe, you will never know. Well anyway, it was really fun, and I want to thank TehIshter again, for realizing the duet, we both have dreamed of. Also, many many thanks to Castlevaniapro, who mastered the audio track for us. Check out his blog too, he is doing really awesome anime remix tracks!

Following next is the transcription of my favoriteEnding song of this winter season 2013 so far: Kibou no Hana (Flower of hope) from the anime Koutora-san

3b35c61528fc0b0a4257ef00a74ac537

DAT ending ;___;

A hauntingly beautiful ED song I instantly fell in love with. Naturally, this is a must-do in my transcribing list. I kept the sheet difficulty rather simple, to express the calm atmosphere of the song. However, there are some parts of the sheet (in bar 12 for example),  where you have to play a 10th span chord. You can simply play an octave instead.

The fourth and most important of the transcription is my Angel Beats! Opening Transcription: My Soul, Your Beats.

everyone loves kanade ;_;

everyone loves kanade ;_;

Before you go and listen to this, let me tell you a little story behind the creation of this sheet:

Only a few of you may remember, but three years ago, when Angel Beats! was airing, I wanted to transcribe the Opening at any cost, because the music was practically MADE to be played on the piano. But I tried and struggled with the sheet for a week, and ultimatiely, I dropped the sheet.
I failed miserably because I couldn’t met everyone’s huge expectation. I wanted to made the most epic piano transcription ever, but back then I was lacking ideas and almost went insane due to the pressure.
So instead, I made the sheet Brave song and I sweared to never touch a finger on the sheet My Soul, your Beats! again.
The original sheet remained unfinished at 40 % progress until today.

Now.. three years (and several transcriptions) later, I’ve gained enough confidence to transcribe it again, not only because I have more experience with sheet arrangements by now, but I also wanted to redeem my past failure.
While arranging this, I remembered the hard days back then when I couldn’t make any progress for days, and therefore I’ve put all my heart and soul in this transcription, trying to express all those frustration and sorrowful moments back then. This is especially audible in the last third of the transcription, where I included an excerpt of Ichiban no Takaramono (My most Precious Treasure).

This sheet is dedicated for all those people, who have waited years for my arrangement of the Angel Beats! Opening, and their patience should be rewarded with a full version special transcription.

As you have noticed already, I changed filehost for my sheets from mediafire to Sheethost, because Mediafire is being a dick again and starts deleting my sheets.

483486_422512387817669_1322083471_n

I guess that will end our partnership over all these years, Mediafire. Really too bad, because you used to be fast, reliable, and less bitchy about copyright and stuff. In the following days, I will replace all my mediafire links with sheethost links. (I will not delete the old mediafire links though.)

Well then, that would be my status update for the year 2013 so far, and in a few days or so, I’ll announce something really really special. Stay tuned!

Fall Anime season Power ranking (Psycho-Pass Ending)

Hello everyone!

Another update for the fall season has finally arrived, this time it’s the Psycho-Pass Ending Namae no nai Kaibutsu or the english translation: Monster with no name.

This song is performed by EGOIST, infamous for doing the Guilty Crown soundtrack, and you people should know by now, that everything related with EGOIST and Supercell is going to kick ass.

I extended the TV-sized a bit by including a “original” segment, but by now, you should know I do this in almost every transcription of mine.

[Namae no nai Kaibutsu]  (difficulty: challenging)

And now for something different.

Instead of making a “fall anime first impression post“, I’ll just post a power ranking of the anime series I am currently following.
Here’s my current watchlist, ordered from my favorite to least favorite:

1. Girls und Panzer – best show ever. Yes, I am completely serious. Ignore the silly premise of the show and don’t take it too seriously, or you’ll spoil your fun. Every character have it’s own charm and they are really likeable. There’s also next to no fanservice, (which I really grew tired of), but instead we have TANK-service to the max. The producers behind GuP have put a lot of effort to create a detailled and authentic setting with tanks. And with Commies fabulous ÜBERMENSCH subs, this show is the perfect show after a long exhausting day. PANZER VOR!

2. Psycho Pass – This show have received a lot of hype before it aired, but it really lived up with it’s expectations. I really like the unique setting and the dark atmosphere in Psycho Pass. And last but not least, Akane reaction faces is priceless.
3. Little busters! – the animation is incredibly lazy sometimes, but well, I am still fan-biased because the Visual Novel is one of my favorite VN’s
4. Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai! – extremely solid and very entertaining with god-tier animation – as expected from kyoani, definitely one of the best comedies this season.

5. Shisekai Yori – incredibly intriguing and fascinating, this series is really on eof a kind. And the world building is excellent – the mystery anime of this season.

6. Robotics;Note – the first three episode arc is really boring at some times, but I still have high hopes for this series. There’s so much potential left.

7. Code;Breaker – the underdog of the season. The premise sound like “generic shounen with superpowers“, but the main protagonist is really refreshing and the direction is very good, I didn’t get bored for a second.

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – the dropping line – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

8. Zetsuen no Tempest – the series is solid, but it still haven’t won me completely over. Maybe I am too occupied with all those shows listed above, but at least the OST is god-tier.

9. K – I think I know the origin of the anime title. K stands for clusterfuc[K]. four episodes in and I still don’t have any idea which direction this anime is headed. The background art are inhumanly good though…

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – dropped – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

10. BTOOOM! – trying too hard to be dark and edgy. Every character is a psychopath because they have suffered a trauma in the past – or they have been raped and shit. No thanks, Battle Royale is better. Dropped.

11. Magi Yet-another-generic-shounen, only with an arabic setting. I think I just grew tired of shounen. *sighs* Dropped.

12. Sakuraso no Pet no Kanojo – the (obligatory) forced drama of this season. The setting have been done to death already (see honey and clover) and this show offers nothing new. Also, I agree with Zaku here – why are people so fascinated by the sterotype retarded moe girls? Dropped.

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – didn’t even bother  – – – – – – – – – – –

13. Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun, Sukitte Ii na yo – I don’t watch shoujo series anymore since it’s ALWAYS frustrating as hell. (misunderstandings, comical relief, love triangle, internal conflict blablabla…). Pre-dropped.

14. Onii-chan dakedo blabla, To love ru darkness – fanservice shit.

– – – – – – – – – – – – – archiving – – – – – – – – – – – –

Hayate no Gotoku S3 – I am still a fan of the series and I’ll marathon it once it finished airing.

JoJo Bizzare’s adventure – might be cool.

Yep, that would cover my Fall anime season 2012 schedule.

Alright, my next project is the Shinsekai Yori ED, I’ll upload it probably on saturday.

See you until then!

Why can’t it be fall already? (Hyouka OP 2 – Mikansei Stride)

At least, Hyouka still remains good

Alright, I’ll cut right to the chase: This summer anime season is extremely boring. Not a single show has catched my attention yet, and the only good show continuing from the last season is Hyouka at the moment. (Accel World has dropped in quality lately)

Let’s just start with my summer anime 2012 first impressions post.

Now, before everyone come at me and shout “wait, did you even watched these shows?

– yes, I did. All of them. Albeit only the first three episodes, but that’s usually enough to judge the shows.

The only series, who survived the three-episodes-test are Swort art online, Tari tari, Kokoro Connect and Jinrui,

Swort art online has started with a very impressive first episode, and everybody was hyped up, but from the second episode onwards, it began to crumble under it’s huge premise. The biggest problem I have with the series is the main character Kirito. After 4 episodes, he still doesn’t have any interesting personality besides being “badass” and most of the time “emo”. Another problem is the horrible pacing. In the second episode, one month has passed and no one even cleared floor 1, and two episodes later, they have suddenly reached floor 30. Seriously? How can you skip that much time in only TWO episodes? But the drama in episode 3 annoyed me the most. Why – tell me, why should I care about a character, who died a “tragically death”, when it’s has been barely introduced in the beginning of the same episode? That’s just wrong, there’s no build up, no real emotion involved, only a cheap plot device to force a tear-jerker for the viewers. And don’t forget to mention the introduction of your obligatory loli fanservice character in episode 4.

(;¬_¬)

Well, let’s hope it will improve with the time.

Tari Tari is slightly enjoyable for the most of the time, but it still haven’t set apart from your average slice of life anime series and its characters still remains pretty bland. Well, it does get some bonus points from me because of the focus on music.

Jinrui wa sutai Shimashita or Humanity has declined is the oddball of this season. It’s a very cynical series with a interesting premise but I still don’t feel any motivation to watch the next episode. Maybe it’s just not my cup of tea.

Kokoro Connect… well I still have to watch it (mostly because Tehishter has recommended this series), but it’s a bit irritating that the character design resemble K-ON! so much.

Now, let’s move on to the transcription itself:

Fun fact: I have added a (hidden) third voice in the Hyouka transcriptoin. If you pay closely attention you can follow it through the whole piece. The jumps in the right hand in the beginning is a bit tricky, so you can just omit these if you want.

This will probably be my only update for this summer season because none of the OP/ED have really intrigued me.

Fall anime season can’t come soon enough.

“Promoting” my favorite anime this season with a new sheet (Natuiro Kiseki – ED)

One last update, (this makes eight complete sheets in one month, I must be either crazy or really enthusiastic) before I go into “hibernation mode” again. In addition, my veeeery late spring anime 2012 first impressions post is finished as well.

Well, you surely noticed the title of this post, so lets talk about my favorite show this season, Natsuiro Kiseki, and let’s discuss why this is so “unpopular” among the anime community.

But first of all, why am I even suggesting this show is “unpopular”?

Here are the reasons why I think Natsuiro Kiseki has fallen under the radar in the anime community and don’t get the attention it (really) deserves:

  1. – this show seems to be neglected on the animeblogosphere. Here is the screenshot of animenano, showing the amount of posts among the anime bloggers. Seems like, Fate-zero and Hyouka are the most discussed series this season.
  2. the rating on Myanimelist is incredibly low (6.85), and I can’t comprehend why. If we consider Natsuiro Kiseki as a slice-of-life anime, it does everything right, and even better than your average slice-of-life shows.
  3. there are only 12 (!) fanarts on danbooru/gelbooru (not counting in the ero ones), which is definitely too few for a show, that aired more than a month ago. (compare to Hyouka, which have 83 fanarts already). This show really deserves more love.

My guess why people ignore this anime:

  1. –  on the first glance, it’s a yet-another-slice-of-life series, if you only judge by the cover and the summary, so it don’t really have a good selling point.
  2. – the first episode wasn’t that interesting (some random teen drama) and it ended on a strange note (girls are flying through the sky because of a random rock?!? wtf? etc…) and most people dropped the show because of that.
  3. – there are many better and more exciting shows airing in this season, so probably most people dropped this in favor of other series.

And now here are five unbiased reasons, why you should watch this show:

1. the girls are cute. I mean, really really cute. I mean, just look at these two…

… how can your heart not melt at this sight? ;__;

 2. the overall direction of Natsuiro Kiseki is very down to earth and don’t feature any

outdated slapstick,

unneccesary boob jokes,

oh-boy-here-we-go-again situations

and blatant fanservice

3. The opening and ending is really good, despite being a “generic j-pop” at the first glance. I especially love the ending, which has a really beautiful tune.

4. The setting is more interesting than your usual slice-of-life stories, because it features the wish-stone, where wishes will come true (through the power of friendship of course) Not the most original idea since the invention of sliced bread but hey, hillarity always ensues!

5. Yuka’s ever-changing hairstyle

Convinced now?

Okay, so please give this series a chance if you have dropped it already (or still haven’t watched it), just relax and enjoy the true beauty of slice-of-life shows featuring four incredible cute girls doing silly things, and thank me later.

Finally the spring anime season has arrived (Mysterious girlfriend X – Soundtrack)

and so… a new journey begins…

Hey everyone, it’s time for an update again!

Since the last winter anime season was very, VERY disappointing, (I dropped everything except Another and Daily lives of highschool boys) I am glad that spring season has finally arrived upon us and it looks more exciting than ever. Currently there are 8 shows on my watchlist including long awaited adaptions  like Mysterious girlfriend X or sequels like Eureka seven AO.

So today, I’ll start off with something unusual: a transcription of a soundtrack instead of a opening.

Remember the music which plays during the dream sequence of the first episode of Mysterious girlfriend X?

It was a really catchy waltz-like theme and I couldn’t get it out of my head, so I just went and transcribe it.

I also quoted an another famous piece by a very famous russian composer. Bonus point for everyone who can recognize it.

As usual, I’ll rename this sheet if the official soundtrack is out, currently I name it  “Dream theme

-= Download the sheets here =-

[Dream Theme from Nazo no Kanojo X pdf + midi]            (difficulty: easy)

Did I mention how much I’ve missed to transcribe things again? So expect a lot of updates this season.

Oh by the way, today is friday the 13th. What a great day to start off the new anime season.

Also:

JC Staff in charge of anime adaption?!? NOOOOOOOOooo!!!!!

I dare you, JC Staff,  I DOUBLE DARE YOU, do NOT fuck up the Little Busters! anime or heads will roll.

Out of moe (Anamnesis – Another ED transcription)

Maybe… I’m growing old of Anime… I feel tired…very tired.

“The new anime season has already began more than two weeks ago, and there is only one update?

Well, I was indeed planning to update two weeks ago, when new openings and endings came out, but I lacked motivation to finish the sheets. I started doing the sheets of Mouretsu pirates OP, Rinne no Lagrange OP and the second OP Nisemonogatari, but I dropped all of them halfway.

And to be honest I’m gradually losing interest in Anime. (yet again)

Yeah, I know, all of us have experienced this, there’s always a weak Anime  season where everthing seems to suck, but until this point I though I could deal with it. It’s particularly bad this time.

Maybe… I should start transcribing songs from other media besides Anime like video games… or even pop songs.

Anyway, here’s my obligatory first impression post. And I am NOT  happy with this season:

Senki Zesshou Symphogear: What the hell am I watching. The entire premise is just… ridiculous beyond hell. The evil minions have the most stupid design I’ve ever seen. Seriously, this is stupid.

Nisemonogatari: FANSERVICE FANSERVICE FANSERVICE WORDSWORDSWORDS – damnit SHAFT. I had high hopes,  since I liked Bakemonogatari. SHAFT, I know you like pandering the audience, I appreciate the “unconventional” fanservice you are showing us here to boost sales, but using the first three episodes to simply reintroduce the characters? Where’s my plot? Where’s the kickass action? Where is badass-Shinobu? I am disappoint.

Mouretsu Pirates: … that’s actually not bad, but waiting this on a weekly basis is killing me. I’ll archive it and watch this in one run.

Rinne no Lagrange: XEBEC being… decent? HOW? Despite the “obvious” fanservice in the character design, it’s really not bad and partially entertaining. Still, I am not sure how long it will keep my interest, since everything else feels so generic.

Inu X Boku SS: Oh boy, every Shoujo love-comedy story ever. Let me guess: The main Character, will gradually fall in love with the bishounen – despite rejecting him first – and in the final episode they will be kissing, or at least holding hands. Prove me wrong.

Daily lives of Highschool Boys: Yeah it’s funny, but still, it can’t compare with Nichijou. Somehow, I can’t really relate to the characters, it’s lacking something.

Another: The only show I am still watching weekly.

Shana III is put on hold and I’ll watch it, when all episodes have aired.

Everything else not mentioned here sucks.

However, I have finished at least one piano sheet, it’s the ED of AnotherAnamnesis by Annabel.

Not much to say about this transcription, I kept it as simple as possible, the only difficulty in this transcription is probably the chord in bar 11, you’ll need big hands for this.

Well, that’s all.

I’ll start updating again when the spring Anime season 2012 begins. (and hopefully will be better than this lacklustre season)

Until then-

Animenz
