Finally I have finished the last transcription for the Fall Anime Season 2012.
This is of course dedicated to the best series of this fall season: Girls und Panzer!
Especially the Ending Enter Enter Mission is catchy as hell.
I have finally regained some motivation again to finish a sheet and you can really hear the results this time:
I added a lot of articulations and dynamics in the sheet, “hidden” motives (the chromatic runs) – and I finished this sheet in record time: It took me only 5 hours to finish the sheet completely.
Too bad the final 2 Episodes are postponed until march (seriously ACTAS, what are you doing), but Girls und Panzer is already my favorite show of this season and definitely one of my top 5 shows of this year.
This is one of the prime example of anime where you can apply the saying “don’tjudge the book by its cover.”
The premise is extremely silly, but it’s so well executed, so well researched, that you just can’t stop staring at the screen and rooting for the Oarai team to win the next Panzer battle.
Another update for the fall season has finally arrived, this time it’s the Psycho-Pass Ending Namae no nai Kaibutsu or the english translation: Monster with no name.
This song is performed by EGOIST, infamous for doing the Guilty Crown soundtrack, and you people should know by now, that everything related with EGOIST and Supercell is going to kick ass.
I extended the TV-sized a bit by including a “original” segment, but by now, you should know I do this in almost every transcription of mine.
Instead of making a “fall anime first impression post“, I’ll just post a power ranking of the anime series I am currently following.
Here’s my current watchlist, ordered from my favorite to least favorite:
1. Girls und Panzer – best show ever. Yes, I am completely serious. Ignore the silly premise of the show and don’t take it too seriously, or you’ll spoil your fun. Every character have it’s own charm and they are really likeable. There’s also next to no fanservice, (which I really grew tired of), but instead we have TANK-service to the max. The producers behind GuP have put a lot of effort to create a detailled and authentic setting with tanks. And with Commies fabulous ÜBERMENSCH subs, this show is the perfect show after a long exhausting day. PANZER VOR!
2. Psycho Pass – This show have received a lot of hype before it aired, but it really lived up with it’s expectations. I really like the unique setting and the dark atmosphere in Psycho Pass. And last but not least, Akane reaction faces is priceless.
3. Little busters! – the animation is incredibly lazy sometimes, but well, I am still fan-biased because the Visual Novel is one of my favorite VN’s
4. Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai! – extremely solid and very entertaining with god-tier animation – as expected from kyoani, definitely one of the best comedies this season.
5. Shisekai Yori – incredibly intriguing and fascinating, this series is really on eof a kind. And the world building is excellent – the mystery anime of this season.
6. Robotics;Note – the first three episode arc is really boring at some times, but I still have high hopes for this series. There’s so much potential left.
7. Code;Breaker – the underdog of the season. The premise sound like “generic shounen with superpowers“, but the main protagonist is really refreshing and the direction is very good, I didn’t get bored for a second.
8. Zetsuen no Tempest – the series is solid, but it still haven’t won me completely over. Maybe I am too occupied with all those shows listed above, but at least the OST is god-tier.
9. K – I think I know the origin of the anime title. K stands for clusterfuc[K]. four episodes in and I still don’t have any idea which direction this anime is headed. The background art are inhumanly good though…
10. BTOOOM! – trying too hard to be dark and edgy. Every character is a psychopath because they have suffered a trauma in the past – or they have been raped and shit. No thanks, Battle Royale is better. Dropped.
11. Magi – Yet-another-generic-shounen, only with an arabic setting. I think I just grew tired of shounen. *sighs* Dropped.
12. Sakuraso no Pet no Kanojo – the (obligatory) forced drama of this season. The setting have been done to death already (see honey and clover) and this show offers nothing new. Also, I agree with Zaku here – why are people so fascinated by the sterotype retarded moe girls? Dropped.
13. Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun, Sukitte Ii na yo – I don’t watch shoujo series anymore since it’s ALWAYS frustrating as hell. (misunderstandings, comical relief, love triangle, internal conflict blablabla…). Pre-dropped.
14. Onii-chan dakedo blabla, To love ru darkness – fanservice shit.
Hi everyone, I’m back again for the summer season.
But before we start, let me express my thanks to everyone who have donated so far for my new microphone. Currently I have already received €244,35, that’s really amazing, and some people even donated 50€. Therefore,
thank you very much for your support ^^
I’m currently aiming to get the Rode NT5 Matched Pair for 315€, a pair of tripod and as well as an audio interface (120€). I have calculated everything and this one seems to have the best price-performance ratio.
Alright, here is the first transcription for the summer season: The Second Hyouka ED, Kimi ni Matsuwaru Mystery. I am really happy that Hyouka has improved a lot recently and the episodes have become much more interesting to watch. Not forget to mention the animation is still god-tier.
As usual, I extended the TV-size Ending a little bit and added an alternative ending.
Oh well, since I’ve uploaded the AKB0048 Opening, I might upload the piano cover of the ending as well. But this time, the sheet is not done by me, it’s done by Castlevaniapro93.
He have contacted me via e-mail some months ago and after countless skype chat’s I’ve found out he is also watching the most current anime shows, he ALSO makes anime music sheets for the piano, he ALSO have very high demands to himself in order to deliver the highest quality piano sheets possible – AND he is also german. Awesome.
I’ve only made some minor edits (since he is also using Sibelius as notation software, I could edit the sheet very quickly) because some of the passages are too hard/impossible to play. Nevertheless: I really appreciate his effort for making those amazing sheets.
One last update, (this makes eightcomplete sheets in one month, I must be either crazy or really enthusiastic) before I go into “hibernation mode” again. In addition, my veeeery late spring anime 2012 first impressions post is finished as well.
Well, you surely noticed the title of this post, so lets talk about my favorite show this season, Natsuiro Kiseki, and let’s discuss why this is so “unpopular” among the anime community.
But first of all, why am I even suggesting this show is “unpopular”?
Here are the reasons why I think Natsuiro Kiseki has fallen under the radar in the anime community and don’t get the attention it (really) deserves:
– this show seems to be neglected on the animeblogosphere. Here is the screenshot of animenano, showing the amount of posts among the anime bloggers. Seems like, Fate-zero and Hyouka are the most discussed series this season.
– the rating on Myanimelist is incredibly low (6.85), and I can’t comprehend why. If we consider Natsuiro Kiseki as a slice-of-life anime, it does everything right, and even better than your average slice-of-life shows.
– there are only 12 (!) fanarts on danbooru/gelbooru (not counting in the ero ones), which is definitely too few for a show, that aired more than a month ago. (compare to Hyouka, which have 83 fanarts already). This show really deserves more love.
My guess why people ignore this anime:
– on the first glance, it’s a yet-another-slice-of-life series, if you only judge by the cover and the summary, so it don’t really have a good selling point.
– the first episode wasn’t that interesting (some random teen drama) and it ended on a strange note (girls are flying through the sky because of a random rock?!? wtf? etc…) and most people dropped the show because of that.
– there are many better and more exciting shows airing in this season, so probably most people dropped this in favor of other series.
And now here are five unbiased reasons, why you should watch this show:
1. the girls are cute. I mean, really really cute. I mean, just look at these two…
… how can your heart not melt at this sight? ;__;
2. the overall direction of Natsuiro Kiseki is very down to earth and don’t feature any
outdated slapstick,
unneccesary boob jokes,
oh-boy-here-we-go-again situations
and blatant fanservice
3. The opening and ending is really good, despite being a “generic j-pop” at the first glance. I especially love the ending, which has a really beautiful tune.
4. The setting is more interesting than your usual slice-of-life stories, because it features the wish-stone, where wishes will come true (through the power of friendship of course) Not the most original idea since the invention of sliced bread but hey, hillarity always ensues!
5. Yuka’s ever-changing hairstyle
Convinced now?
Okay, so please give this series a chance if you have dropped it already (or still haven’t watched it), just relax and enjoy the true beauty of slice-of-life shows featuring four incredible cute girls doing silly things, and thank me later.
When I started my Youtube channel two and half a years ago, I would NEVER EVER have thought that I would gain so many subscribers. I mean, all I did was just some random piano videos, focusing on covering Anime Openings/Endings and occasionally Soundtracks. My only cool feature was the sheet I provided to everyone.
…th…thank you … everyone…
But still, 10.000 people…
from all over the world….
subscribing my humble channel…
…
… *sob*
….ahem….
Anyway, thank you everybody for your support, for watching my Vids and playing the sheets I made. Seriously.
And in order to celebrate that, I’ll present you something special.
There exists sheets of Megumeru already on Josh’s Anime sheets, but only the version played in the original Visual Novel of CLANNAD, not the anime remix version and I personally think the anime version is better than the original.
I also made a sort of “remix”, because I included a part of the CLANNAD After Story Opening Toki wo kizamu uta in the sheet.
Henceforth, this sheet should be called
CLANNAD OP – Megumeru ~cuckool mix 2012~ (okay it was a joke)
The infamous Fourth Opening of the epic mecha series Eureka Seven by Nirgilis. The OP is still one of my all time favorite OP, because the absolutely brilliant use of Amazing grace in a modern J-rock song.
So I extended the OP with the Amazing grace theme at the end, to give it a more proper finish.
